Iona McCombie SmithAyurvedic and Thai masseuse
I use a combination of Thai massage with Ayurvedic marma point manipulation and Pranayama healing breath to relax the body, induce a sense of peace throughout the mind, body and soul and allow for the body to heal.
The path to all healing begins with the breath. When combining natural healing breathes with movement and posture, healing, unity and peace can flow throughout the body. This the is basic principle of yoga but also of my form of massage. I work with the breath and the energy lines of the body to induce complete relaxation and allow the body to begin to heal itself. Coming not to the body with force but with humble respect and cooperation.
I first began my training in Chiang Mai in northern Thailand, where I completed my Thai massage training. My studying continued as I made my way through Southeast Asia, collecting experience and knowledge as I travelled, in massage as well as pranayama (sacred breath) and asana (posture). I added a new principle to my study in Rishikesh India, where I completed my Ayurvedic Abhyanga massage training and deepened my connection and understanding of healing through Pranayama.
I believe that self care through massage, is of vital importance to connect the mind, body and soul; to induce a sense of serenity and ownership throughout our whole being and to give ourselves the attention that we deserve, desire and often need.
Namaste, Love and light,
